1926
Scottsbluff Junior College was founded in Scottsbluff
1929
Athletics were established in the college and the first teams to participate were football and men’s basketball teams. The teams also chose the cougar as their mascot.
1965
The bond for a new college campus was passed in Scotts Bluff County.
1968
Scottsbluff College becomes Nebraska Western College.
1982
Alliance School of Practical Nursing merged with Nebraska Western College in Scottsbluff to become the Nebraska Western College of Practical Nursing Program.
1988
The Western Technical Community College Area Board of Governors changed the name of the college to Western Nebraska Community College Scottsbluff Campus and Sidney Center.
1997
Classes for the Sidney Aviation program began in the new aviation facility.
2002
WNCC purchased and remodeled a former call center, now known as the John N. Harms Center.
2006
The Powerline Construction and Maintenance Technology program was developed, and a new facility was built for the program.
2010
WNCC unveiled a new logo.
2019
Construction completed on renovations including a new Performing Arts Theater, Learning Commons, and Welcome Center.
2025
Construction completed on renovation to the John N. Harms Center Health Sciences Facility.
