Real World Success for Students

Board of Directors

The Foundation at WNCC was founded in 1971 to assist students in achieving their educational goals through several scholarship programs and has since expanded into an organization that provides support for students, faculty, staff, programs, and capital projects on each of our three campuses. Through the generous support of individuals, corporations, and other organizations, The Foundation has grown from nothing more than a dream to over $2.8 million in net assets to date. The Foundation is governed by a committed and active volunteer board.

We provide resources - financial and professional - to enhance scholarship opportunities, provide growth opportunities, and support programs at WNCC.  We are committed to expanding access and affordability for all students.  We believe the work of the Foundation enhances the lives of community members, the quality of the college, and the communities it serves.

Scholarship Fundraising and Support

The WNCC Foundation plays a key role in helping students achieve success through the use of donations to fund scholarships, particularly for traditionally underserved students.  Last year, $382,258 from the Foundation scholarship fund was awarded to 317 students.  The Foundation provides endowment, planned giving, and gifts of cash, securities or properties to members of the community that wish to support students in achieving their educational dreams.  The Foundation provides an Honor Roll of Donors each year to recognize the importance of community support for students.

Program Support has included special projects and needs in the past, such as:

  • Athletics - television cameras, travel funds, equipment, scoreboard.
  • Faculty - equipment, travel funds, sponsored annual Great Teacher Institute attendance, and sabbatical leave.
  • Student Projects - Student Government workshop travel, literary magazine.
  • Library Support - computers, software, books and publications.
  • Instructional Equipment
  • Music Programs
