
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - Western Nebraska Community College's Homecoming is scheduled for October 14 through November 4, with events planned on all three campuses. All events are open to the public.
"We are excited to host a variety of fun events on all three campuses," WNCC Alumni & Stewardship Director Mary Sheffield said. "Homecoming 2023 has something for just about everyone. We hope the community will join us."
The Voc-Air Fly-in will kick off Homecoming on the Sidney Campus at the Aviation Maintenance Facility. Breakfast will be served from 7 – 11 a.m. on Oct. 14. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Pilots in command eat free.
WNCC Performing Arts kicks off their Fall 2023 season with the Instrumental Music program hosting its annual Fall Ball, "The Final Frontier," on Oct. 21. Appetizers and live music begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Platte Valley Performing Arts Center lobby with the performance starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Judy Chaloupka Theater. Tickets go on sale Oct. 9 and can be purchased at the Kelley Bean Box Office or online at go.wncc.edu/pva.
The Cougar volleyball team will face Eastern Wyoming College at 7 p.m., Oct. 24 at Cougar Palace. It's Alumni Night and PAWZitively Pink Night at the Palace. Alumni get free entrance to the game. All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Anyone wearing pink will receive $1 off admission, and breast cancer survivors get free entrance.
The following day, the Alliance Senior Center will host Community Bingo on Oct. 25 from 12:30 – 2 p.m.
The 10th Annual Alumni & Friends Banquet is set for Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. in the John N. Harms Center. The awards banquet will recognize Outstanding Alumnus, Outstanding Young Alumnus, Lifetime Achievement, Cara Perkins Meritorious Service, Friend of the College, and Family Pride award winners. Also on Oct. 27, Performing Arts will present "Night of the Living Dead, the Musical!"
