Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar serves as a hub for reliable access to academic records for WNCC, including transcripts, graduation requirements, and academic status.
Student Records & Services
Students may drop classes through the Student Planner on their Portal and by completing and returning a drop form to Student Services. All drop forms must be signed by the instructor outside of the 'no penalty' drop/add period which falls during the first ten days of full-semester classes/first five days for 8-week classes. Charges for the course continue to accrue according to the Refund Policy until the completed drop form is received in the Student Services Office.
We send official transcripts electronically via Parchment, which is simple to set up, easy to use, and available at any time. To get started, register for an account! You will then be able to request a transcript be sent to colleges, graduate schools, employers, or even yourself.
If you experience difficulty in this process, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 308.635.6013 or email registrar@wncc.edu.
If you have attended WNCC within the past two years, you may still obtain a list of your WNCC courses and grades through your Portal. From Classlink, select the "WNCC Self-Service" app. From there, click on the hamburger menu > Academics > Unofficial Transcript.
If it has been more than two years since you attended WNCC, please email a written request with a signature to registrar@wncc.edu. You may also fax the request to 308.635.6732.
For help registering or dropping a class, check with our Advising Office.
Grading Policies
Students who choose to audit a class must pay regular tuition but are not required to complete course requirements unless they so desire. In any case, audited courses will appear on a student's transcript with a grade of AU, which will not be included on the student's total of completed courses. This option must be declared in the first two weeks of each semester after consulting with the instructor. The grade of AU cannot be changed to another grade at a later time.
Students have the option to be graded on the Pass/No Pass scale for designated courses. This option must be declared in the first two weeks of each regular semester after consulting with the instructor.
The official withdrawal period begins after the first five days of classes of each semester and ends two weeks after midterms. For an overview of the procedures on dropping a class, please visit our Advising Office page.
Based on a student's performance at the time of withdrawal, the instructor will issue a grade of W or WF. Those grades can be given only during the semester in which the student officially withdraws; they cannot be given retroactively. Posted grades of W or WF cannot be changed to another grade at a later time.
Students who fail to withdraw officially will receive a grade of F. Withdrawal from individual classes after the official withdrawal period is not permitted unless a student withdraws from the College.
A student may be administratively withdrawn from a course at any time for disciplinary reasons or for failure to meet specific course requirements. The student will receive a grade of W or WF as appropriate.

Grade point averages (GPA) are computed on all credits taken at WNCC excluding those courses awarded through nontraditional credit or taken on a Pass/No Pass basis.
The WNCC Dean’s List and President’s List is released at the end of each fall and spring semester. Both lists recognize students who completed at least 12 credit hours of college-level courses with either a 3.40 to 3.99 GPA (Dean’s List) or a 4.0 GPA (President’s List).
Students graduating from WNCC with a GPA between 3.40 and 3.99 are recognized as graduating with honors, while students who graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA are recognized as graduating with high honors.
Every student has the right to appeal the final grade in a course by following the below procedures. Students must initiate an appeal no later than three weeks after the day grades are postmarked.
- Discuss the matter with your instructor. Clerical errors are usually handled in this manner, with the instructor signing the correction of official records. If you believe the problem is not resolved, you can then:
- Elect to file a written Grade Appeal at the Dean of Instruction’s office for referral to the Peer Review Committee. A formal Grade Appeal may not be filed until the first two steps have been completed.
- Academic (Final Grade) Appeal Form
Academic Amnesty allows students returning to WNCC to remove a maximum of two semesters of poor coursework from the calculation of GPA provided the following conditions.
- At least three years have elapsed since the time of the semester(s) being petitioned;
- Since returning, the student has completed at least 12 consecutive credit hours of college-level courses with a GPA of 2.75 or above, or 24 consecutive credit hours with a GPA of 2.25 or above.
If approved, the courses and grades of the semester(s) affected will appear on the transcript with the notation that academic amnesty was granted. All credits and grades taken during the semester(s) will be included in the amnesty. A student may receive academic amnesty only once and it is irrevocable. Since academic amnesty may affect financial aid awards, students receiving financial aid should contact the Office of Financial Aid prior to applying for amnesty.
Students are placed on academic probation if they have taken at least nine credits and have a GPA of below 2.0. The probation, which is meant to warn students of their unsatisfactory academic progress, requires students to meet with Counseling Services for assistance.
Students who have been on academic probation or extended academic probation will be automatically placed on academic suspension if their term GPA falls below 2.0. Suspended students may not register for classes immediately following the suspension. However, these students have the opportunity of petitioning to the Dean of Students for special consideration within five days of receiving the suspension letter by completing an appeal form linked below.
Graduation Requirements
In order to be accepted as a degree candidate, you must complete a degree audit and be cleared for graduation by the Registrar by the graduation application deadline (second Friday of November for fall graduation, second Friday of April for spring graduation, second Friday of June for summer graduation) of the term you wish to graduate. You must also meet the following qualifications to be considered for graduation:
- All financial obligations must be paid
- A minimum of 60 credits must be earned with a grade average of at least C on all credits counted toward graduation
- All degree finalization procedures must be completed
Residency requirements can be met in one of the following two ways:
- Earning 30 or more credits at WNCC or
- Your most recent 15 credits earned are from WNCC.
Any exceptions to the residency requirements must meet with the express approval of the Vice President of Educational and Student Services.
