Adult Secondary Education

GED (General Educational Development) is for anyone who wants to earn a high school equivalency diploma. The GED test is a series of four exams designed to show that a person has high school level academic skills in Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Math. By earning your GED you are eligible for college, trade school and increased job opportunities. 

The program is free to anyone 16 years of age or older and not enrolled in a secondary school. Earn your GED for FREE! This includes all instruction, learning materials, practice exams and costs to take the GED exams.

Anyone 16 years or older. If the student is under the age of 18 they must have officially withdrawn from a Nebraska school or have completed a registered home schooling program. Students under 18 must meet the requirements of Nebraska Revised Statute 79-202.

There is no specific time frame for a student to complete the program and pass all four GED exams. Since the program is individualized and based on student learning needs and schedules, the amount of time widely varies. The more time a student can dedicate to the program and their studies, the faster they will move through the program. 

Yes, absolutely! We understand that our students have jobs, families and lives that take up time outside of the program. We sit down with each student to build a customized learning plan that works for them. We have morning, afternoon and evening classes available depending on the location. We also offer home learning opportunities. Remember we want you to be successful so we are here to make this work for you and your life. 

First, you will be scheduled for three day orientation (depending on location). Within orientation, you will complete your CASAS benchmark to help create your individualized learning plan based on your needs. Next, we will set up a time for you to meet with your instructor and create a schedule and learning plan. Once a schedule and learning plan have been created, you are ready to start class!

We offer the GED program at no cost to you! It's free! 

We provide one-on-one instruction, a customized learning plan, educational materials, supplies, access to computers, practice exams and the GED exam at no cost to you. Our program also partners with the Nebraska Department of Labor to provide career readiness workshops to help students be successful. 

We offer a formal graduation ceremony for our graduates. We want to honor and celebrate this accomplishment and milestone in your life. If your goal is to continue to college or trade school, we can help you do that. If your goal is to look for new employment opportunities, we can help do that through our partnership with the Nebraska Department of Labor. We are here to support you in whatever your next steps might be.
