Around the world, agriculture is one of the most vital and diverse industries with many career options. WNCC’s Pre-Ag Science program will help you develop a strong understanding of the many elements that make up agricultural science.

WNCC also partners with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to ensure the first two years’ coursework meets their requirements so you can obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Additionally, UNL classes are offered on our Scottsbluff Campus or online - giving you the opportunity complete a bachelor’s degree without leaving the Panhandle.

Career Opportunities

The field of agriculture is changing rapidly to meet the demands of a growing population and the career options have increased exponentially. WNCC’s Pre-Ag Science program will prepare you to transfer to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Sciences with opportunities for specialization in Agroecology, Agribusiness, Agricultural Communications, and Rangeland Ecology, to name a few. This degree leads to careers in farm and ranch management, soil sciences, animal nutrition, agricultural sales and marketing, agronomy, crop management consultation, and many more.

Depending on the specialization you choose to pursue in ag science, you’ll be prepared to boost your crops and livestock to their highest potential. These are very physical jobs requiring you to be outside analyzing and researching crop and livestock performance to assess ways to either maintain or improve them. These careers may also require you to create and present analytical reports on your findings. So, if you’re passionate about expanding development and enhancing the quality of ag production, you’ll find an enriching career in ag science.
