Those with careers in a Human Services help people in their time of need, from infants to elders, families to individuals. Human Services covers a diverse field of personnel working in occupations such as childcare and substance abuse counseling, among many others. Listening, nurturing, and critical-thinking skills are essential for anyone wanting to pursue a profession of empowering others to self-reliance through guidance and emotional support.
In our program, located at all three WNCC locations, you will receive hands-on training and theoretical knowledge through a combination of behavioral sciences and general education courses. Our Human Services program will provide you with the general skills you’ll need to help others within a variety of human service settings. By the time you graduate, you will be employable as an entry-level human service worker. You can also transfer to a four-year institution to get your bachelor’s degree.
