Located at our Scottsbluff Campus, WNCC’s Nursing Pre-Professional emphasis area centers on students interested in continuing their education within the field to obtain a bachelor’s degree. This program will ensure you have the basic courses and knowledge needed to enroll in four year professional nursing programs. The courses provided in our program are also applicable to various other related programs in the life sciences and medical fields, giving you options upon graduation.

Career Opportunities

With an Associate Degree in Pre-Professional Nursing from WNCC, you will be able to go straight into a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at a four-year institution.

A BSN degree will allow you to take your nursing licensure to become licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and, with some experience, will provide you with the eligibility to apply for leadership positions in the nursing field supervising other nurses. Positions may include Director of Nursing, Patient Care Director, Charge Nurse, Clinical Nurse Leader, and others. These positions typically include an increase in salary and allow for the opportunity to apply for higher administrative positions within healthcare organizations.

Having a BSN also qualifies you to pursue a master’s degree or Doctorate of Healthcare Administration degree to further your career options. You’ll find a career in nursing will bring you hundreds of opportunities to move laterally to other departments to expand your skills, as well as advancement in positions with your gained experience.
