Leadership Opportunities

Resident Assistants

Our RAs wear many hats. They listen, encourage, mediate, supervise, and more importantly, lead. RAs are available in all three residence halls at WNCC to enhance the overall on-campus living experience.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are a select group of students who serve WNCC in a variety of ways, including marketing and recruitment activities. They also serve as orientation leaders during new student orientation each semester.

PTK

Phi Theta Kappa is the national honorary scholastic society for community colleges. The Lambda Pi Chapter, which includes the Scottsbluff and Alliance campuses, is open to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, while the Alpha Rho Omicron Chapter is open to Sidney Campus students who have accumulated 12 credits and uphold WNCC’s code of conduct.

National Society for Leadership and Success

Students are selected to National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) based on academic merit or their leadership ability. Those that receive a position join one of the nation’s largest leadership honor societies.

Cougar Leadership

Student Government

Students on each campus are elected to serve and represent the student body in campus affairs. In Alliance the governing body is called Student Council; in Scottsbluff it’s Cougar Council; and in Sidney it’s Student Senate.

Community Engagement

You don't have to look hard to find our students. The Cougars are represented throughout the Panhandle at soup kitchens, elementary classrooms, local food drives, senior care centers, and so many other places. Take a look!
